Account & Data Deletion Policy
Effective and Last Updated: July 15, 2026
1. How to Request Deletion
Use the deletion option in account settings when available, or email office.smikaf@gmail.com with the subject "Account Deletion Request". Include your name, country, school, role, account email or phone number, and whether you request deletion of the account, specific information, or both. Do not send passwords or identity documents until a secure verification method is provided.
2. Verification and Authority
We verify identity before acting. A parent, guardian, school, or representative must demonstrate legal authority. School-managed users may be referred to the school because it controls official records.
3. What Deletion Does
Where approved, SMIK-Af will close authentication access and delete or irreversibly anonymise associated platform information that is no longer needed. Shared forum content and uploads will be deleted or anonymised unless retention is legally necessary. Backups are removed through normal secure rotation.
4. Information That May Be Retained
Schools or SMIK-Af may retain official academic records, safeguarding and disciplinary evidence, financial and tax records, consent evidence, security logs, dispute records, or information subject to legal hold where lawfully required. Access will be restricted and the information will not be used for unrelated purposes.
5. Timing
We acknowledge requests promptly and aim to complete verified requests within 30 days, or the shorter period required by local law. Complex or school-dependent requests may take longer where law permits; the requester will be informed.
6. School Closure and Offboarding
When a school leaves SMIK-Af, the school may export its data during the agreed transition period. Data is then deleted or returned under the School SaaS Agreement, Data Processing Agreement, Retention Schedule, and mandatory law.
7. Complaints
If a request is denied or limited, we will explain the reason where lawful and identify available review or regulator options.
